Make Your Summer Road Trip Hassle-Free

Summer road trips are a good time for everyone. You have time off work or school, and you’re ready to get out of town for a few days. It’s important to make sure you take care of yourself while you get from point A to point B, so here are some tips to make your Road trip is stress-free.

· Schedule breaks: Everyone gets tired after a while. It’s important you stop for snacks/restroom breaks. This will also give everyone a chance to get out of the car and stretch their legs.

· Check your tires before heading out
: The summer heat can have a detrimental effect on your tires causing them to lose air. Make sure to check your tire pressure prior to departure.

· Examine your wiper blades
: The summer heat can do a number on your wiper blades. Be sure to make sure they are 100% working condition before heading out. If they aren’t invest in a new pair.

· Schedule a preventative maintenance check: It’s important to make sure that everything on your car is in working order, so everyone can get on the road worry free!

- Pick up your phone: If you know a veteran or the family of a veteran, call them. Let them know how much you appreciate their/their loved ones sacrifice for our country.

Long Road Trip? Use These Three Games to Pass the Time

We all know long road trip drives can seem like forever. The kids are in the back seat asking a billion questions like “are we there yet?”, and you are just trying to keep yourself from going crazy! Next time you find yourself stuck on a long ride with nothing to do, try out these road trip games to keep everyone occupied!

“I Spy”

This is a classic. One person looks around and picks out an object that the other players have to guess, with their only clue being “I spy with my little eye something (insert color)”. The player that guesses correctly gets to pick out the next object. Remember not to pick something that’s whizzing by on the side of the road, but something that will be in view for at least a few minutes.

“License Plates”

There are lots of games that you can play with license plates, but our favorite is the alphabet game. Each person must call out letters in alphabetical order as they see them appear on license plates of other cars. The first person to Z wins. If you really need to kill time you can do the alphabet backwards as well!

“Name That Tune”

This is just like the classic game show! The first person to guess the name of the song wins. The first player will hum/sing/whistle a tune. Try to use something popular like a Movie or TV theme. The first person to guess the tune is the singer for the next round, and the person that guesses the most tunes wins!

Feeling Hostile Behind the Wheel? Learn How to Control Your Anger in 3 Simple Steps!

1

1   1) Get Your Shut Eye: We all get a little grumpy when we’re exhausted. A lot of the time this grumpiness gets taken out on the drivers around us. Enough sleep= happier driving.

2) Your Car is Not a Refuge: It’s tempting to take a drive “just to blow off some steam”. Though it may seem like a good idea at the time, it never really is. Getting in your car when you’re stressed or angry can spell trouble for you and the people around you.

3) Turn Down the Jams: Listening to music in your car can be relaxing when you listen to slower music or even talk radio. The problem stems from when you listen to music with the bass turned up too loud, or listen to aggressive music. Aggressive music= aggressive driving. Keep calm, others drivers will thank you for it.
